Chemical Peels

Chemical Peel a la carte // $75

During your initial consultation, we will discuss your skin care concerns and goals to determine which peel will work best for your skin. You don't have to select a peel type before you schedule! The below descriptions are just helpful information.

Types of chemical peels include:

  • Enzyme - Utilizes fruit enzymes to naturally exfoliate the skin.  Usually aloe vera, pumpkin, pineapple, and other fruits enzymes are used. Benefits include: ridding the skin of dead cells (exfoliation), accelerating cell renewal for younger looking skin, diminishing the look of scars, minimizing the appearance of age spots, fine lines, sun damage and discoloration.

  • Glycolic - An alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) peel used to exfoliate the skin. Benefits include - removing layers of dull, dry skin; improving hyperpigmentation, softening fine lines, promoting a rosy glow, drying up acne, and encouraging better penetration of other skin care products.

  • Lactic  - A gentler alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) peel used to exfoliate the skin. Benefits include: ridding the skin of dead cells (exfoliation), deep cleaning pores, fading dark spots, improving hyperpigmentation, and stimulating collagen production. Lactic and glycolic peels will yield you similar results. If you have a fair amount of dark spots you wish to fade, or if it's your first time getting a chemical peel, go with a lactic acid peel.

  • Mandelic - The gentlest of all the alpha hydroxy peel (AHA) and similar to glycolic & lactic acid peels. Mandelic peels are less penetrating but still very effective for treating acne. It is safe to use on darker skin tones and for people with Rosacea. Benefits include: ridding the skin of dead cells, loosening blackheads, evening out skin tone, fading dark spots, repairing sun damage.

  • Phytic -  Phytic acid is capable of inactivating tyrosinase – the enzyme, which causes hyperpigmentation when it is excessively produced, therefore, perfect for those with this condition. Phytic acid helps to remove existing pigment spots and effectively prevent the development of the new ones. Other notable benefits include; antioxidant delivery, whitening, and anti-inflammatory aids. Clients also report a rejuvenating and lifting effect.

  • Salicylic - A beta-hydroxy (BHA) peel, salicylic acid is oil soluble, thus making this acid perfect for oily/acne skin.  Stronger and more penetrating than the alpha hydroxy peels, recommended for harder to treat acne patients. Benefits include - deep pore cleansing, acne treatment, removing oil, loosening blackheads.

  • Jessner -  The Jessner peel consists of elements from other peels: lactic acid (assists in the exfoliation of the skin), salicylic acid (aids in penetration), and resorcinol (assists in the treatment of acne). It is a bit stronger than these other peels but is excellent for helping remove and heal skin damage that is more extensive than regular damage. Benefits include - customized treatment for more extensive skin damage, smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles, aiding in reducing acne scarring, assisting with the treatment of melasma.
